Our Family, Our Business

A California family
that builds California things.

Green Constructors California is a family-owned general contracting firm established in 2004, based in Colfax ten minutes off I-80. We serve the Sacramento Foothills, Bay Area, and Northern California.

About the Firm

A small shop that owns its equipment.

We're a full-license general engineering and building contractor. Our CSLB A, B, and C-10 classifications (all under license number 963808) and our DIR registration (#2000018635) mean we handle everything from public works contracts for agencies to private custom homes, and every kind of sitework in between.

We run a Kubota SVL 75-2 skid steer, a CAT 306 excavator, a Ford F-450 service truck, and a Ford F-450 pickup, along with a full complement of attachments. We self-perform dirt through finish — one point of accountability instead of six subcontractors pointing at each other. When a phase benefits from a specialist, we bring in someone we've worked with for years: Vintage Contractors for tennis and pickleball surfacing and fencing (often reversed — we sub for them), and Urata Concrete for specialty concrete finishing on large pours.

The Whole Crew

A job site is also a backyard.

Felix and Jax have been around the fleet since before they could walk. Katie runs her law practice from the family's off-grid Colfax home. Frank is the one answering the phone when you call.

Family-owned, and backed by a crew that's put in the hours on everything from a single-family hillside cut to the 49ers obstacle course at Levi's Stadium and the Kiefer Landfill slab pour. No job too big, no job too small. We bring the right crew for the job, and we stand behind the work.

How We Work

What it's like to hire us.

We answer our own phone.

No call center. No gatekeeper. When you call 831-325-9857, you're talking to Frank.

We give you a straight number.

If your project is a fit for us, we'll quote it clearly. If it isn't, we'll tell you that too and point you to someone who's better for the job. Neither of us has time to waste.

We self-perform — and sub honestly.

From dirt to finish, we do the work with our own crew and our own equipment. When a specialist is the right call, we bring in Vintage or Urata and tell you up front. One point of accountability. No mystery subs.

We build things we'd build for ourselves.

Because some of it, we literally have. Our home is our case study — if it's good enough for our family to live in, it's good enough to build for yours.
